If you have ever  been issued a ticket in Irving and failed to respond to the ticket by the due date, a warrant may have been issued for your arrest.   A warrant subjects you to being placed into custody anywhere you may be found . Therefore, you may be arrested at your home , your work, or school, or any other place where you may be found in Irving or outside of Irving.

If you are arrested, you will be brought in front of a magistrate judge who will read the charges against you and allow you to enter a plea of not guilty, guilty, or no contest.  If you plead guilty or no contest, you will be assessed a fine and either given credit for your time in jail or remain in jail until your fines are satisfied or released from jail with payment due on the fine within the time allowed by the judge. If you plead not guilty, you will remain in jail until a bond is posted or you have enough credit for the time you spend in jail to release you . Unfortunately, if you do not contact the court after being released from jail and obtain  new court date , your bond will be forfeited or a new warrant will be issued for your arrest.

Before you are arrested, you should contact an experienced attorney who regularly practices in Irving for legal advice .our office can assist you in determining what can be done with your individual case to avoid going to jail. Generally, we can assist you by posting an attorney’s bond and requesting a court date wherein we can help you resolve your cases and potentially avoid convictions on your record . Of course it is best to contact us before you are arrested, however, if you do get arrested you may still contact our office and we can post bonds for you so you may be released from jail.
