Drivers License Suspension Irving

Drivers License Suspension Irving

The most important part of legally driving in Irving is to have a valid drivers license (DL) and current liability automobile insurance. Without these two important predicates to driving, you are subject to severe financial penalties and loss of important privileges. If you are ever ticketed for operating a motor vehicle in Irving without one or both of these, you must do everything possible to keep the charges from appearing as convictions on your driving record.

No DL tickets are usually easy to remedy. If you had a valid DL at the time of the stop and just didn’t have it with you, we can present your DL to the court for a dismissal. If you did not have a DL at the time of the stop, we can prolong the disposition of your case to allow you time to obtain a DL and qualify for deferred adjudication to keep the ticket off of your record. If your DL was expired, you can renew your license and request a dismissal from the court, usually for a small dismissal fee. Lastly, if your license was invalid or suspended, we can assist you with reinstating your license and bringing you into compliance so you can qualify for deferred adjudication to keep your record clear.

A no insurance ticket can also be handled rather easily if had a valid policy which covered you on the date of the offense. We can submit proof of insurance from that time and as long as the court can verify coverage, the court will dismiss the case. If you did not have insurance at the time of the offense, you can obtain current insurance and we can obtain deferred adjudication for you to have your case dismissed. If you did not have insurance under your name and your were operating a vehicle belonging to someone else, then we can take proof of insurance for that vehicle along with a letter of authorization from the owner of the vehicle stating you were allowed to drive the vehicle and the court will verify coverage to have your case dismissed. The key here is to have verifiable insurance and the burden is upon you to provide that proof to the court.

If either of these violations appears as a conviction on your record, you will likely have to pay the fine and court costs, surcharges to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), and/or DPS may seek to have your DL suspended. Also, you may incur higher insurance rates and be forced to obtain SR-22 insurance to keep your DL from being suspended.
